Needs Assessment and Search Strategy
This is the most critical stage in the executive search process. Here your Tessera Consultant leads a due diligence and needs assessment on the client organization. Your Consultant meets with senior management, departmental heads and other relevant stakeholders to gather information relating to the organization's goals, strategies and culture. This information is then used by the Consultant to create specifications for the position. This is where we draw on previous engagements to determine the appropriate qualifications and expectations of the position. Finally, a search strategy is set which lays the foundation for targ
eting industry segments and specific companies for the purpose of candidate identification.

Candidate Identification

Armed with the search plan, we mine our own proprietary database of executives while simultaneously researching names of executives from our target list of companies. In addition we will call upon our executive contacts to ask for their input on candidate suggestions. To round out this process we may also advertise the position on an appropriate online job board. While this will attract active candidates, it is important they be given consideration alongside the more elusive passive candidates.

Long List and Short List
Once identification is complete the recruiting and interview phase begins. This part of the process requires diligence and resilience as over one hundred prospective candidates are individually contacted and telephone screened. Those who are long listed meet with a Consultant for an extensive interview where time is invested promoting the opportunity to the candidate, highlighting the benefits of a career with the client organization. Equally, candidates are assessed for their technical ability, leadership style and cultural fit. From the long list a select group of candidates is invited to meet with the client - the short list. A confidential report is prepared for all short listed candidates. This succinct document explains why this person has been deemed a candidate and offers detailed insight into their motivation for considering the opportunity.

Candidate Selection and Presentation of Offer

The Consultant helps the client work through the decision-making process, but the final decision rests with the client. Once the finalist candidate has been selected, we assist the client in formulating an offer, presenting it to the candidate, and negotiating its acceptance. In this phase comprehensive reference checks are performed completing a 360 degree review, including peers, subordinates and superiors.

Service Guarantee

Tessera Executive Search guarantees that any candidates our clients hire will not terminate employment voluntarily, or be discharged due to misconduct or unsatisfactory performance (determined in accordance with reasonable standards), during the course of the guarantee period. Should a replacement search need to take place Tessera will repeat the entire search process with no additional fees incurred by the client, except for out-of-pocket expenses.
